Mare Nostrum.

For the last 50 years my family has gathered at the same beach in Southern Brazil. Countless traditions have survived generations, and this year, to commemorate the 50-year anniversary, I decided to design a logo that we can use to represent this phenomenal story. Every house has a pine cone statue (which was very randomly acquired and ceremoniously distributed). Upon receipt, each household got to paint their pinecone however they wanted, and thus another tradition was born (we have many). Together with the pine cone, each time a house is bought, my uncle gives the owner a wooden sign that says, “Mare Nostrum” (The Sea is Ours). I took those two elements and created our logo.

Below is Mare Nostrum—A little piece of land and sea we have named ours.
